Performance issues on 2.3 compared to when I played on 2.1, is there anyway I could revert to an old version and keep my save?

Basically as the title says, I've got crazy stuttering and performance problems on the newer version and was wondering if anyone knows how to revert the patches, and if I do if I could keep my V or if I'd have to remake him, I'm pretty early in (just completed the prologue) so I wouldn't be heartbroken or anything. The launcher also keeps saying my Intel drivers are out of date even though I've updated them through the launcher like four times, so I dunno what the issue is there.
