"And He is the One Who created the day and the night, the sun and the moon—each travelling in an orbit." I'm struggling to see how this is a definitive scientific miracle

Advice/Help 🥺

I want to be Muslim but before converting I want to make sure it holds up. This isn't my first post like this and it certainly won't be my last haha.

Anyway,

I see this verse used a lot on social media as a piece of scientific proof for the Qur'an's divine origin. But for this verse specifically, I'm not seeing it.

Because at the time, didn't we know Earth was spherical (allowing for orbits) AND believe in geocentrism with the sun and moon orbiting around Earth?

So from a secular point of view, even though we now know that the sun orbits the galactic centre, couldn't someone who doesn't believe in the Qur'an's divinity argue it's refering to those geocentric views?

Please help 🥺
