Painted over wallpaper

Ok so we bought our first house during the craze of 2021. We didn’t realize that the really fine finish on our walls was actually paint over wallpaper 🤦‍♀️. Cue to now 4 years of small children making small dents to a large hole on one wall by scraping it off. How do I remove the wallpaper? Or should I just patch the holes, patch over the scraped off bits with new wallpaper and paint over it to match? I’m not sure I’m ready for how much of a headache it will be to remove all the wallpaper. It’s through the entire house, but I also don’t want to keep patching all the time. Can I even remove it all by myself or do I need to hire a professional? Then what do I do after removal? Thank you for any advice or suggestions!
