Thinking of adopting a smol void years now.

Discussion ❓

I’m specifically looking for a male one if that matters at all. I’m also 24 for the record, living with parents who don’t like cats but over the years I’ve successfully managed to convince them about 87% I don’t have a stable job but both my parents have. I do earn a good amount of money with the part time job I’m doing in the family business plus the path I’m creating to start my own business where hopefully money will soon not be a problem at all. So the money part isn’t a huge big deal.

I do work many hours, about 2-3 times a week I work literally all day 8am-9:30pm so the kitty will be alone those hours. That’s my only concern but I thought about having neighbor friends go over and feed and play with the lil void. Overall I have a very good vet nearby and many people in the building I love are pet friendly, I’m friends with the building owner so that’s not a problem either, plus she’s a huge cat lover along with other neighbors in the building. That’s a huge plus as well.

I’ve never owned a pet, nor I grew up with one. No one from my family ever had a pet besides when they were very young. No one ever had a cat either, just dogs or other animals. I haven’t lived with a cat to know exactly how it will be like so I’m extremely nervous and cautious about it because I’m scared I will be a bad owner (roommate for a cat). I have no idea how cats work? How they behave or what’s normal or not. Or what to expect. I’ve also read about the buyer’s remorse and apparently it’s a thing so I have that in mind too. It’s 15 year commitment and since I don’t have a stable life yet, I don’t know how this will work out in the future.

Can you offer me some guidance or tips? Some opinions in general or your own stories?
