Player tried to bribe me during the Modern Super Qualifier on MTGO
Had a player (ArZeuS24) try to bribe me to concede my last match in the MTGO Super Qualifier on the 26th. This was their message to me at the beginning of the first game:
I have a better tiebreaker than you in the ranking, so if you could please concede, maybe I'll have a bit of luck getting into the top 8, and I'll share part of the prize I receive with you.
This comes off less as a prize split offer and more of a "please help me make Top 8 ~ UwU" (they ended up 14th, lol). In legit tournament prize splitting you never ask for a concession, as this is considered collusion.
I was 6-2 and would've made to around the same ranking if I beat them but admittedly their disrespectful behavior tilted me and I lost the match 1-2, which totally is on me. I didn't place in top 32 as a result, and got fewer prizes. What annoys me is I'm relatively new to competitive Modern and this RCQ would've been one of my best ever tournament results if this never happened, and nobody has ever tried this scam on me before so it really got under my skin. It came off as haughty and ridiculously arrogant of this player to say this crap to me.
I know bribery style behavior is not allowed and easy to stop in MTG tournaments on paper, but what about on MTGO? Daybreak barely even responds to service tickets and doesn't seem willing to remedy this or even take action against the player even after sending them the chatlog .dat file from the match. In a paper tournament this would've caused a match loss or a DQ (if the judge determined the player knew it was illegal), so I do think they should fix this, but I'm not sure what to do from here.
Any advice?
