Linn vs. Naim upgrades (entry level audiophile)
Hi all,
I'm kinda entry level audiophile at the moment - been upgrading since 2012, first had tons of NAD amps, later H/K, Rotel, Arcam, Rega and currently stopped at Linn, have pretty basic setup of Majik-1 used as preamp (yes, the 90's Majik) and a mighty LK85 as power amp. I like how the kit sounds, it's dynamic, the detail is okay, the rhythm is in place, but...can I go bit higher on a budget? Some friends suggested switch to basic pre/power Naim system, like 112/150 or 122X/150X to improve overall detail, quality and soundstage, but I've never listened to them to be honest, so my question would be: would it be an upgrade after Linn? Or maybe other way round, it would be less exciting/more boring result instead of an upgrade?
Zero jazz or classical here, I spin mostly classic rock LPs and CDs, sometimes some good electronic music like Daft Punk.
