Help with speaker/receiver set up

I am a super noob and am looking for someone to explain to me like I'm 5 how and what I need to connect two more speakers to my turntable. I have two powered speakers (Edifecs) connected directly to my Audio-Technica - AT-LP70X-BZ. This all works just fine. However, I would like to also have speakers in the next room so I can hear music in both rooms. I assume I need a receiver to be able to do this. First question, what is the best budget receiver. Second question, can I just run speaker wire to the next room (external, not in the wall). I suppose a third question would be speaker recommendations. I would like to keep this low budget and simple, if possible. Thanks!
