Midwives transferring my care to OBGYN and I'm so bummed! :(

Rant

I was in the ER over the weekend for heart palpitations and severe left arm pain (my midwife told me to go) and my BP reading at home was also really high, so we wanted to check to make sure it wasn't my heart. While I was in there, there was nothing wrong with my heart luckily but unfortunately my BP was creeping up to emergency level at 173/105 and it wasn't going down. My BP readings have been a little higher this pregnancy and so ER doc talked with my midwife and they both agreed to put me on BP medicine. I got a call from my midwife this morning to make an appointment this afternoon t follow up, and a couple hours later, I got a call that they need to transfer my care to the OBGYN instead because I'm on blood pressure medication, even though it might be temporary. I'm 13 weeks, so I'm only about 1/3 of the way through my pregnancy.

I'm so sad! I LOVE all the midwives and I was with them all throughout the birth of my son, and they are so kind, and mostly holistic, which is what I'm really looking for. I have not had good experiences with OBGYN's in the past, so I'm just really sad and bummed out I have to switch just because my damn blood pressure is high now. But I know it's for the health and safety of me and my baby since I'm a higher risk for preeclampsia. (I had gestational hypertension at the very last minute with my son and I ended up being induced 3 years ago), so I was at higher risk anyway. I've heard that OBGYN's really try to push for c-sections, which is something I'm really trying to avoid if at all possible. Does anyone else have good experiences with OBGYN's? I've not had any! As an adolescent and adult, I actually preferred seeing the nurses at my old OBGYN office since they were so much nicer and compassionate. Every OBGYN I've known is cold and have really bad bedside manners. But I am at a completely different hospital now though than I was growing up!
