musicians who really started from scratch and not from nepotism?

I’m genuinely curious to know if there’s anyone who truly started from complete scratch: no industry connections, no famous relatives, no financial backing, and no favors (sexual or otherwise) and still managed to break into the mainstream in a big way bcose lately, it feels almost impossible to find examples like that.

everyone seems manufactured, industry-placed, or connected through family, wealth, or influence, which makes real “self-made” success feel rare.
