Keeping your finger on the cultural pulse

For the first time in my life I feel like I'm genuinely struggling to keep up with what's relevant culturally.

I obviously browse this subreddit, read NY Mag/The Cut (and occasionally NY Times, LRB, FT etc.) and follow cultural commentators on X, plus listen to some film related podcasts (and the Red Scare girlies/Middlebrow) but beyond that I've had this feeling for a few weeks now that I'm just increasingly out the loop.

Maybe that's enough and perhaps it's a good sign that I'm not plugged in 24/7 but I can't help but feel I'm missing something. It can't all be on TikTok can it? As someone in their 30s I refuse to engage with it. Substack completely baffles me and I have no idea who's worth reading/following.

Does anyone else feel the same way? Or does it even matter when you're in your 30s?
