I hesitated for a year before playing part two.
I'm a late bloomer when it comes to consoles. I've played a bit on PC over the years, BioShock, the Metro trilogy, and of course, Black Mesa...
The first games I downloaded for my PS5 were, naturally, The Last of Us Part 1 and 2.
The Last of Us Part 1 really touched me emotionally. Anyone whose parents had to flee during war and lost many family members (World War II), and who felt the effects of that as a child, will be reminded of it with every letter found in The Last of Us. I secretly read similar letters as a child...
t's truly remarkable how the game designers managed to do that. I consider myself a fairly rational person, and I was surprised by how much the game affected me.
It actually took me a year to start Part 2, and I have to admit that I gave up on the final fight between Elly and Abby. I just don't want to finish it right now.
