Do you ever find work to be an escape... or more calming than being home?

I am an introvert to the max. I more traditional woman who likes to stay in the home to take care of my family. This is just a choice because it works really well with my personality type and demeanor... no other reason. I dont like a lot of stimulation, and honestly, im a little lazy (like all people are lets be honest.)... but i have always said "Im just not the working type."

I have said this to my friends, and they say... OMG, i could never not work, i would get so bored. That always confused me because im like... what do you mean bored? I love just farting around... i dont get bored easy.

But then it got me thinking... sometimes i feel overstimulated in the home. I see all the things i need to do, i procrastinate and feel guilt, i get a little irritated by the monotony of the chores in the home... AND there isnt a ton of structure. I have to set my schedule, routine, and sometimes things come up that are unexpected, there is a lot of self motivation involved that can be difficult, kids are naturally chaotic in a MILLION different ways.

So today, i thought... sometimes i think a job that I am really comfortable with... really good at... have been doing a long time so i know it like the back of my hand would feel like an escape from the craziness of home. I almost feel like sometimes... work would be MORE relaxing than being home. It would feel like a mental escape from decision paralysis, self motivation, scheduling, planning, kids... etc. Like... working at a bookstore actually sounds more calming than being home suddenly.
