How do I start to learn to cycle?

Embarrassing - but I’m 26F and I never learnt to cycle growing up, without balancing wheels ☠️☠️

I really want to learn but I don’t have a cycle and I honestly don’t even know where to start/ how to go about it. Should I rent one? Buying seems excessive. And is there a professional (☠️☠️) to teach, I mean I have people in my life who are happy to teach but i tried once in front of a boy and fell :(

Don’t judgeee please I know it’s silly, but I’m dreaming of just cycling around one day everywhere lol. Help?
