I think I really messed up!!

I just got the hue essentials light strip and my dumb *ss cut the strip before plugging in 😭 I cut it on the line and everything, but once I plugged in and tried to connect to my app, only the part connected to the plug works. Am I cooked? My boyfriend had a soldering set up if needed but I just stuck them to the back of my bed frame. TYIA!!
