North East England

I am planning on a trip to the north east of England next summer and I am looking for some recommendations on routes and bike rental. My home base will be Teeside, Middlesbrough area.

I am looking for some ideas for the best 100km road routes. Climbing doesn’t bother me and I would actually like some good climbs mixed in. Any great scenery and cafe stops would be a bonus.

If anyone has any good high quality bike rental recs in Newcastle, Middlesbrough or any of the surrounding area as well I would appreciate it. I’ll have a rental car so I am open to drives to the ride spot. Thanks in advance.
