Parallel or series?

Do you guys set your batteries/ tanks to equalize and just draw from any of them, or do you set them all to flow in the same direction and always connect to the last bat/tank?

Personally I always input to the "first" battery/ tank, wire them to flow in the direction of the last bat/tank (daisy chain?), then always output from the last.

Im sure it doesn't matter much but im curious to see what others like to do
