You know the feeling when you are embarrassed by something, but at the same time too intrigued to stop looking? Well, I have it now. As some of you might know, a pairing from hell emerged in my Story Progression-infested gameplay: [Herb Oldie and Lucy Burb](https://www.reddit.com/r/sims2/comments/1px8hiv/it_happened_story_progression_has_reached_the/) (yes, that's not a mistake). Instead of deleting the game and destroying my laptop, I decided to stick with it to see what will happen next. Well...

Herb and Lucy have just become parents to a baby girl: Margaret Oldie. Oh dear, the family relations are now more complicated than in Greek mythology or even Strangetown! Let's try to analyze it:

* Herb is adoptive father of Mary-Sue Pleasant who is also Lucy's aunt (wife of Daniel Pleasant who is her mother's brother)
* Mary-Sue and Daniel's daughters Angela and Lilith Pleasant are Herb's granddaughters and at the same time Lucy's cousins

Therefore, Herb and Lucy's daughter is...

* Mary-Sue's half-sister (child of her father) and her grand-niece (daughter of her niece)
* Daniel's half-sister-in-law (sibling of his wife and daughter of his father-in-law) and his grand-niece (daughter of his niece)
* Angela and Lilith's aunt (sibling of their mother, daughter of their grandfather), but at the same time their first cousin once removed (daughter of their cousin)

I think I got it right, but I never fully grasped the 'removed' cousins concept so maybe I made some mistakes. Anyway, that really is messed up, I think we can agree on that. "[I'm My Own Grandpa](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%27m_My_Own_Grandpa)" indeed.

In addition, Lucy is now...

* Mary-Sue and Daniel's niece and their stepmother/stepmother-in-law
* Angela and Lilith's cousin and their stepgrandmother (?!?!?!)

Jesus...

But you know what? The baby is actually really cute 😬

If this isn't the most messed up family tree ever, I don't know what is
