Filed a claim and someone hit in the same panel again

Ok so I know somebody recently filed a claim and already sent the photos to their insurance. And a family member hit them in the same area again. They weren't planning to report it since it was in the same area, is this a bad idea? The picture they used to file a claim does look different and less damage on the panel. What should they do
