Recs: Flexible NJ Telehealth Therapist that won’t suddenly leave their job

Advice

I feel like I am cursed. I was going to therapy through Valera Health & like 4-5 therapists I was seeing quit over the past few years. I gave up and went to another practice, Harmony Bay Wellness. Before I even got to this therapist, they quit and I had to be rescheduled with someone new.

I got rescheduled with someone else but I have a bad feeling so I’m looking for recommendations just in case [Psychology today can only tell you so much]. Below are some preferences but I’m flexible on them.

Specialties Preferences:

  • C-PTSD, Childhood Sexual Abuse
  • ADHD
  • Social Anxiety & Depression

Scheduling Preferences:

  • Ideally someone who has been with their practice for a long time. I don’t know why every person I try to see is leaving but I’m thinking maybe it’s because they aren’t happy at their companies?
  • Mondays Ideally
  • I am freelance and my schedule can change weekly so, a somewhat flexible schedule is helpful
  • I also travel a lot for my job… so while it’s “technically” not allowed for me to see someone while outside NJ, if they will pretend to ignore that I’m in a different state, I’d be so happy. (I have contracts for months at a time in other states and it makes consistent care suck :/ )
  • Weekly or Biweekly is fine - no real preference

Therapy Style Preferences:

  • Goal-Oriented: there’s nothing I hate more than going to therapy and the person just listens to me talk. I can do that at home. I want their advice & want to feel like I’m making progress, I like homework.
  • Logical & Smart: I love hearing about why we do things. Like yes, tell me because of how our pre-frontal cortex does XYZ this causes us to feel XYZ when we don’t need to.
  • Love techniques: Someone told me about cognitive distortions and it changed my whole world man
  • I don’t care as much on age, race, gender as I do their personality.
  • Bonus: theater-lovers or people who understand the theater world because I work in theater.
