The age of social media and a culture of immediate gratification has created insane entitlement in media consumption

Am I the only one who thinks that season five has so many people disappointed solely because plot points aren’t going their way? It isn’t a bad season. It may not be playing out 100% the way you thought, but that doesn’t mean the whole thing is a wash. Does it have issues? Sure. But saying the entire thing is objectively bad is just wrong. Different strokes for different folks!

I think that shows who do fanservice are to blame for blowback like this. People forget that movies/TV shows aren’t written solely for their benefit—directors and producers have something they want to say by sending out these shows for us to consume, and sometimes, we won’t agree with it. I am not attempting to discourage right criticism of the show. But rather, saying that, just because they didn’t make a decision you agree with, doesn’t make it the wrong one.

Just sit back and enjoy. The show’s almost over, and it’d be a bummer if people spent the entire time this season being negative solely because plot points didn’t go their way.
