AGL - Change to Monthly Billing
Hello,
I just want to preface this that I am rather pissed off, but want to just see if others have experienced this
I have been with AGL a few years now, I know that I've seen some reviews that they are more expensive than competitors but they give me free netflix so I didn't mind so much.
I've noticed over that time a gradual increase in my bills also, (despite my actual usage going down because my wife is working more hours and we don't have anyone else at home using power) but even a gradual increase of a few dollars I figure is the inflation we've all been seeing bite us.
The new problem that has me livid, they recently emailed me and said there was a non-optional change to their service, quarterly billing was now going to be monthly. Their argument was that quarterly is too hard for some people to afford and monthly would be cheaper overall due to smaller payment sizes.
I just received my first monthly bill from them.
The new monthly payment is $241.49 My last quarterly payment is $605.36 605.36 / 4 = $151.34
Difference increase of $90.15 for a change I did not ask for. When comparing the usage information THEY provide, it shows that the majority of this payment is fees and services. If I consider this difference over 12 months, I am going to be paying an additional $1081.80.
So, if you haven't checked, check your own numbers and see if you're facing similar BS. I would love to know if it's the same amount for other people & if others have also been forced to change to monthly?
I am working today (Happy New Year Adelaide), so my phone will be off, but I will check when I finish. I also WILL be calling AGL, so if there's any employees reading this, look forward to our chat 😊
