Strauss

Forgive me if this has been posted before . But why was Strauss with the gang ? Clearly he could have had a respectable job in a bank or something . Is there any backstory as to why he’s a loan shark ? I mean … he’s the reason for … well … you know . I won’t say anything to prevent spoilers to those who haven’t played / are still playing . But why is he with the gang ?
