Do landscapers really need a website?

Hi everyone, I did some research on this cause that’s what I do for work and I thought that this could help other landscapers as well as the ones that work with me.

Landscapers of course don’t legally need a website or anything like that, and the stats I found show that probably landscapers who don’t have a website are losing at least some Leads

Google/Ipsos/Purchased’s “Understanding Consumers’ Local Search Behavior” study (which includes a “Local Services” vertical) found:

•	4 in 5 consumers use search engines to find local information.

•	50% of consumers who conducted a local search on their smartphone visited a store/business within a day (34% on computer/tablet).

•	Local searches convert at higher rates: 18% of local smartphone searches led to a purchase within a day vs 7% for non-local searches.

BrightLocal’s 2025 consumer research reports:

•	Two in five (39%) consumers estimate that at least 41% of their searches are about local businesses.

•	For local searches, 45% default to Google, and 20% default to Maps tools (Google Maps/Apple Maps/Bing Maps combined).

•	After a local business search, 67% “often” or “always” look at reviews.

Minimal “must-have” online presence for a landscaper (based on the behavior above)

•	Google Business Profile + Maps accuracy (because Maps is a major starting point)

•	Reviews strategy across more than one platform (because 74% cross-check)

•	A simple, fast website (portfolio + services + areas + quote form) to convert high-intent searchers

Do you agree with this? I would like to have more opinions from actual landscapers on this!
