29M - Hi, I'm looking to add to my routine.

Hey there, I'm Jim, 29 years old.

I don't really know how this works so I will just write out a bit about me. If you like what you read and can deal with me maybe shoot me a message. I don't want to stay stuck to reddit DM's forever though.

For work I have been a mechanic for quite a few years in the military. I work on helicopters as a mechanic and previously as a crew chief (flying but not at the controls) and sometimes in my off time I fix cars as well. I have also been in the IT field for the military. I mostly just reset peoples passwords, do updates, and occasionally setup printers (Bane of my existence). I can open up more about that stuff and some experiences later on.

I have a few hobbies but none are really unique or special.

I play video games a lot, I have a steam account with hundreds of games, and tens of games that aren't on steam. I love flight simulators, space flight simulators, and other related games like KSP (Kerbal Space Program). Some of my top games are probably War Thunder, Mount and Blade (1 & 2), Elite Dangerous, Dying Light (1 & 2), Star Citizen, Stellaris, Manor Lords, and World of Warcraft. I've been playing games since I was 9 years old, so that's a big part of my life still and I wont be changing that for anyone or any foreseeable reason. That being said, I don't play competitively AT ALL. I play to enjoy the game and make myself happy. I do NOT play fortnite, apex, warzone, league, rivals, and other similar games. They are not fun to me.

I enjoy building models and painting miniatures, and spoiler alert, I am not a good painter. I paint mini's because it sincerely makes me happy, and is a relaxing things to do. Also the mini's I paint are cool in my opinion. I paint Warhammer, D&D, Gundam, military aircraft, and cars. I spent a bit of time to even make my own paint booth to avoid creating messes. I still make messes. Most all of the models I have at the moment that are my own are Gundam or 3D printed (I own a printer). I have a few pictures of painted models and can be open to sharing them.

Reading and listening to audiobooks is a big thing for me, I have a kindle and like a pair of headphones for every single room in my house so that I can always listen if I want to. I didn't buy that many headphones on purpose it just kind of happened. I love high fantasy books, romantasy, and adventure. My favorite series has been The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson with my second favorite being The Spellmonger series by Terry Lee Mancour. I absolutely adore the unique worlds, the complex worldbuilding, the unique magic systems, political intrigue, etc..

I enjoy working out, going to the gym and on runs is a fun time. I use a few apps to track workouts and calorie intake/burn but I am NOT perfect about it. I have not gone to the gym for a few weeks currently, as I am in the process of recovering from a rather serious injury. I desperately want to go back and when I do, I think having an accountability buddy or someone to talk to about it would be seriously awesome and helpful.

That's pretty much it for hobbies. We can chat more about it if you want to.

I do enjoy watching movies, shows, and YouTube and can also enjoy watching together. I watching scary movies, spooky videos, homemade horror shorts, I even love scary stories. I also enjoy let's play videos, random science videos about how aerodynamics works with certain airframes, or random educational or scientific videos. Some of my favorite movies of all time are some classics like any and all LOTR (Lord of The Rings) and MOST of the Star Wars movies. I loved both of the new Dune movies so far as well, really thought they were well done. I also watch Anime as well, one of my special interests in Gundam/Mecha so I have seen most every Gundam series and movie. I have NOT seen Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I don't really know what I'm looking for, outside of stability, or maybe loyalty? I don't know... I live a pretty boring life, have an awful sleep schedule, I don't go out often, I like staying home and being comfortable. Maybe I need a bit of chaos in my life? I don't want to upend my life completely but I want someone who is unique to talk to and wouldn't mind dealing with me being stubborn or weird. I struggle with maintaining conversation so whoever chooses to send a message, please have some patience with me.

I know I wrote a lot but please don't send a message without having read at least some of it. I wont get upset if you don't remember everything, that wouldn't be fair. I struggle with memory myself so I won't hold that against you. Just please be polite. We can be mean to each other later on when we are more comfortable.
