is my motherboard supposed to be sticking out towards the fans?

well i haven really built it or anything since im missing the proccesor but when i took the mobo out the box and compared the size to the inside of my case, like 3cm of the motherboard sticks out, its not a perfect fit in size, this is my first build so im kinda lost
