Therapy Break and Job Contract Coming to an End
So I returned to therapy last month for the first time in 4 years. A lot happened in my life since I finished therapy in early 2022 that resulted in me returning.
One major thing that happened was I quit my £27,500 a year salary job due to mental health in early 2024 and went on indefinite sick leave for 8 months. Then got fired 2 weeks before Christmas in 2024 and then was depressed.
I was out of work for pretty much 20 months until October 2025 when I went back to work and started a new job that was Christmas Temp.
The contract was fixed term until basically first week of January 2026.
I didn't tell my therapist about the contract but did tell her I was back in work. It's unlikely they're going to keep anyone on as January is very quiet and everyone's hours get reduced.
Anyways the liklihood is I'm going to be out of work but still will / want to continue therapy.
I only pay £80.00 a month as its £40 a session and I only go every other week. (My sessions are very intense so bi weekly is obviously better and more regulating)
I'm unsure if to mention to my therapist about the job transition (it hasn't bothered me if I don't get kept on. I never went into the job looking at it long term) but I want to continue therapy and I can afford to.
Should I tell my therapist or keep it out of the therapy room. It's not a big issue for me at all.
I'm looking for new work as we speak anyways and I've enjoyed working part time and working again in general.
But I'm not upset or sad if I don't get kept on.
What would you do in my shoes?
