Tachimanga premium background download

Im seriously contemplating getting premium for unlimited downloads because my work has sucky wifi but if i get premium will i be able to download in the background(change apps or lock phone while downloading) or no? I feel like other than unlimited downloads this would be the only reason i get the premium.
