If you genuinely enjoy your job I want to know why - from a law student being swayed by negative reviews of big law.
I'm a 1l starting to think about what area of law I'm interested in and where I see myself in the future. I have a lot of time to figure stuff out but there are networking events put on by biglaw firms at my school and talk about internships. Looking around at posts and talking to people it seems like it's normal to struggle with mental health, over exhaustion, bad culture etc working at a biglaw firm. I'm still interested in biglaw but I want to know if I'm putting myself in a potentially bad place for my mental wellbeing if I choose to go into biglaw. Does anyone have any positive stories about good culture or reasons why they genuinely enjoy their job? Can you find balance and not die young of a stress related heart attack? Are there nice and fun people or will I be crying in the bathroom everyday after being berated by my boss.
