How to handle distant crush??

I'm 16m, and a few months back during the summer I met this girl, who I'll refer to as J. J is at most, only a year older than me and it's been a bit since we interacted in person, we had a couple of fun moments.

A few days ago, I followed J on ig, she accepted my request relatively quickly and then followed me back, so my guess was that she remembered me. 2 days later, I shoot her a message, a generic hey it's been a while how's it going. Still have no response to that DM so I personally don't really care about it anymore. She still views my stories, and I haven't been blocked, restricted or directly shut down in anyway.

What would be my best next move? What is ur guy's read on the situation.
