How did Christina Aguilera's drummer get away with putting a 32nd note double bass drum groove in her hit pop song "Genie in a Bottle?"
Was checking out this guy's drum tutorial of it, and he's straight up playing a 32nd note bass groove throughout the whole song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ACGymUbu54
How Christina Augilera's drummer did get away with putting that in...A POP SONG? I literally have never seen double bass used like this. I know it's 99% of the time used in metal, but it was initially used in jazz and some rock (like Hot for Teacher) has it.
But straight up pop? Pretty cool!
