This movie still hits hard | 12 Years a Slave Synopsis & Plot Review

Okay, so I just re-read the plot for 12 Years a Slave. And honestly? His kidnappers got away with it.

Solomon Northup was a free man. He was a talented musician. Then he got kidnapped. Sold into slavery for 12 years. Think about that. Twelve years.

He had some brutal owners. Epps was the worst, man. The whipping scene with Patsey... oof. It's just so messed up.

He finally got rescued. Thanks to a Canadian dude named Bass. But seriously, his kidnappers walked free. That's the real gut punch.

This movie is essential viewing. It's tough but important.
