TPR looks only at Line play, O-Line and D-Line, and rates/scores them as a unit (not individual positions) on the 10+ stats that sustain or stall drives.

**Game TPR: SF 216 | CHI 22**

**TPR Spotlight: SF O-Line (TPR 304)**

Oh my. Definitely not a defensive slugfest. This was quite entertaining, and nerve-wracking as well. To the trenches:

First off, I’ve never seen a ToP difference as tilted as it was in 1H where the SF O-Line had the ball for almost 22m vs the 8m for CHI (imagine how many points CHI could have put up if they had equal ToP?!). Thank goodness for holding onto the ball for so much of this half.

By the end of 1H, the SF O-Line had 7 drives consisting of 1, 9, 4, 3, 9, 15 and 6 plays. CHI had two 3&Outs, three punts and two scoring drives in the same half yet the score was SF up by just 7.

Jump to the 2H and Q3 had just two series in total, just two. CHI had the ball for 10 plays and the 9ers had an 8-play series. Both ending in scores. That Q3 was pure possession football.

By the end of the game, the SF O-Line put up 32 1stDwns (big number, they avg 23) with a solid balance of 17 Pass to 13 Run and a very impressive 7-10 on 3rdDwns. That 3rdDwn stat is key because when your opponent is matching you shot for shot, holding onto the rock and moving the sticks matters.

The other number this SF O-Line ought to celebrate is the 200 YdsRushing for the night.

The SF O-Line ran the ball 34x for 5.9 Yds/Carry; this is old-time SF running game numbers and not what they’ve done that often this year.

The 9er big fellas on the O-Line won the night vs the CHI D-Line.
