Air Shafer 3.0 vs Lauf Seigla
Stuck and can't make a decision between the Ari Shafer 3.0 and Lauf Seigla - looking for input.
Comparing the Shafer 3.0 Pro and Seigla Race Wireless E1, both have the XPLR force E1 1x drivetrain. Stock vs. stock with no other options, I can get the Lauf $350 cheaper by getting one lightly used from the Lauf outlet. New vs new, the Lauf is about $575 more expensive.
The intended purpose of the bike will be to ride and race gravel around the Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia and I will also ride on some pavement. With either bike I will be looking at upgrading the wheels and tires to the Zipp 303 XPLR S wheelset and 2.25" tires. I can upgrade directly through Ari to this wheelset for $1,200, but it actually makes no sense to do this as it looks like Performance Bicycle has the wheelset listed for $1,200, so I wouldn't have any potential savings specing the bike above the base build through Ari.
I know this sub is very loving of the Seigla however reviews of the Shafer 3.0 also seem super promising. I am leaning towards the Seigla because it looks to have a more aggressive geometry for racing, but I also really like the look of the Shafer in the rootbeer metallic color much better than the Seigla. I know I probably can't go wrong with either decision but looking for some input to help sway me one way or another. Is the geometry of the Shafer too relaxed for racing?
