PSA - be wary of private equity owned HVAC companies in the area

I was doing some research on who to use and was surprised to learn crisafuli despite their 3rd gen family business ads on the radio was acquired in 2024 by Redwood Services - a private equity-backed home services holding company. If you browse r/hvac professionals there consistently warn homeowners to be wary of private equity owned companies rather than family businesses… Roland J. Down is also private equity backed. I haven’t had bad experiences with either of them, but just wanted to let folks know they’re not really “local” businesses anymore in case they matters to you.
