Best earbuds given my history?

I got AZ100 for Christmas as a gift to myself, but the fits seems to be poor and they irritate my ears a lot. I can get them secure, and the ANC test says the tips are the right size (Xtra small), but the still put too much pressure on them and cause irritation. I also find the sound to be different than what I expected.

I found the bass to be a bit weak, but I did like that it sounded decent while not overpowering the rest of the sound. I am somewhat sensitive to sibilance and high frequencies (I think), and find that frequencies like 8k and 12k sound too sharp or harsh at anything above -2. And even at -2 and below, "sss" sounds are too flat if that makes sense.

I came from Oneplus Buds 3 Pros, which I found to have really bad sibilance no matter the EQ settings, and the overall sound was a bit flat for me. They fit fine though and the bass sounded really good.

I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to this type of stuff, so I am completely unsure what my preferred sound would even be. From what I have looked at, it seems that I would probably prefer a more balanced tuning rather than a more v shaped tuning? Oneplus Buds 3 Pro are apparently very shaped. I also remember enjoying the sound profile of my old wired Apple Earbuds (the ones with the audio jack) that I used in high-school.

I've come across 2 options that may have the preffered sound I am looking for which are the Bose QC Ultra Gen 2 and the Sony XM5s.

Any recommendations for earbuds to try that may match my preferences? Or earbuds that I should end up enjoying considering my history woth earbuds? Thanks!

:)
