Is saying "I am uncomfortable telling you my dating/sexual history" a good idea for an inexperienced guy like me?

I personally would not care about my hypothetical partner's sexual experience. All I care is if we are compatible in the moment and if she is STD free so I would not even ask this. I think its a bullshit question.

Common advice is to say "I am not comfortable talking about this" if this question comes up. But wouldn't most women be turned off by this? I feel its an invasive question however, I wouldn't mind being honest here.
