Egregious GUC Exchange

Maybe it’s a product of the algorithm. Or maybe it’s always been this way.

But offering a first class upgrade w/GUC exchange for flights like MCO-ATL is a joke and insulting.

I can (kind of) understand needing it for something like JFK-LAX, but offering it on such a short flight is a bit of a slap in the face for people who live on these airplanes where GUCs used to be a very valuable way to earn a lay flat route to Europe/Asia.

Yes, I know some will say “you know, you don’t have to take the offer”. Yes, I do. But every year, the value of their program goes down, partially because of ridiculous things like this. At some point, it won’t be worth chasing status anymore.

I wonder what other shameless GUC offers have been spotted out there.
