Why did so many people hate The Housemaid?

I really loved it personally.

The spacing, acting, and comedic elements flowed very nicely.

And I appreciate how accurate it was to the book, especially the casting.

Sure, it's on the more campy side, but I really liked that for this movie.

Just curious why so many people say it was bad? (You can't say Sydney Sweeny, that's not a real answer.)
