AITAH for becoming materialistic with my fiancé and debating in leaving him?

For context: I (23F) and my fiancé (23M) have been together since February 5, 2025. In the very beginning of our relationship, he did not have a job. I currently work at Starbucks, he found a job within two months of our relationship at Taco Bell. Where he works is not a problem, may I add

Initially, I always gifted him things on various occasions, including Valentine’s Day, his birthday, Father’s Day, Christmas, for random reasons, etc but I usually never had a problem with it but overtime I’ve realized he doesn’t always put in effort. Despite my kids being mine, he takes care of them like they’re his own so I gifted him a Father’s Day present to show my appreciation for his efforts. On Mother’s Day, i bought the gifts for his mom, for my mom and my “soon to be mom” sister. I preplanned my daughter’s birthday and bought everything. When it was my birthday, he didn’t know what to do. He claimed to have something planned, but he made reservations last minute at a restaurant I picked, melt( decently expensive). When we get to promenade shops where the restaurant is we start walking around, granted he claimed he had everything planned but he didn’t. I ended up being the one planning out the whole day going to Bath & body Works, going to Pandora, the movies, we wound up not being able to afford melts so we went to red Robin and barely ate anything. When we finally got to a point that we sat down outside in the middle of the shopping, he proposed to me.

Now this is where the materialistic part comes in. I did not like the ring. I did not like my birthday. I did not like the way he proposed, and I sort of feel like I don’t appreciate what he did for me. Even though I know he had the best intentions, I still was the one that planned my birthday. We did not have enough money for my birthday, and we were calculating the whole time on what we could spend on and what we couldn’t. The one main thing that I really wanted was to have a fancy dinner, and we couldn’t do it because we only had $400. He lied about how much he spent on the ring, but it was only $14 and too small. The ring he got me was completely bedazzled, a heart shaped diamond like glass and extremely big, which is also not my taste. Although I told him compared to what my ex-husband did and how he proposed to me, my current fiancé did a lot better, but the way he did it was not what I envisioned.

One month later, when my second daughter‘s birthday came around, I was the one that spent over $300 on her birthday, and he did not spend anything because he had no money. At the end of October, I told him to start planning on buying gifts for Christmas so that we can be finished by December. We agreed on a plan that I would get all the females, and he would get all the males, but I wound up buying all the gifts for everyone. Granted, I did tell him that I was going to buy the gifts at the very beginning of December because he never started buying gifts so I knew he wasn’t going to have enough money to buy any presents, and for me, so I told him that I would buy it so that he can have enough money to get me something. As much as I want to say how grateful I am for the gifts, I did tell him what I want, which was juicy couture purses, and that’s what he got me. AITAH?

Ps. I would like some feedback, your opinions and advice.
