I might have chronic tinnitus...

advice • support

I might have discovered that I have chronic tinnitus and I don't know what to do.

I have always had difficulty falling asleep and attributed it to various factors but never thought that the constant ringing in my ears were the culprit.

I also on occasion hear a buzz that starts low and reaches a peak for 10 to 20 seconds before fading away. That part I was always conscious about and attributed to supernatural beings walking around me. Never bothered me I found it a cool feature of my body. But I do not know what to make of it now.

I am in my 40s, have lived alone for a couple of decades with no companion ever since a breakup with my high school sweat heart over deciding not to attend college. What should I do now?

I Don't want to get an official diagnosis because I have a $10M life insurance policy (don't ask why) and I don't want them raising my premiums.

Is this the end?
