I think I upset my friend by talking about my trip too much

We're both european 19F and 20F and we're sort of childhood best friends, I no longer live in my hometown. I moved for uni, while my friend "Daria" still lives here and goes to uni here. We see each other maybe 2-3 times a year but I love her a lot and we really try to stay close and not lose our friendship because it means a lot to both of us.

Right now, I'm back home for Christmas break but before coming home I went on a 2 week long trip to Thailand with a friend from uni. I told Daria about this trip a month ago and she was really excited for me.

Now that I'm back home we went for dinner and she asked me about the trip, the food, culture, how different it is from Europe, etc. I showed her photos and talked a bunch but sometimes it seemed like she was kind of quiet, not so engaged and not really excited. I tried not to talk excessively about it (in fact I feel like I didn't talk much at all, I didn't tell her all the destinations we visited, I only talked about a few foods, I only showed her some photos). And of course I asked a lot about her and her life and the majority of dinner we actually talked about uni and our usual lives and not this trip.

And towards the end of dinner, I told her we could go on a trip together in the summer and she seemed excited about it and I think we will actually plan it and go ahead with it.

But we're from slightly different backgrounds money wise (honestly the difference isn't huge, we literally grew up in the same neighborhood, but I admit my parents have enough money to support me studying abroad for uni for 3 years and they did the same for my sister and Daria's parents definitely don't). I'm bringing this up because I basically said I would pay a bigger portion of the expenses for the trip if we go on it, because at first when I brought up going on a trip in the summer she was worried about the money.

So, I'm just looking for advice in terms of:
Is it smart to take on more expenses than your friend if you plan a trip together?
Do you think I upset her and should I have not talked so much about the trip?
How do you handle situations like this where you can tell you're kind of upsetting your friend, should I have stopped talking earlier as soon as she seemed quiet?
