Anyone else have an issue with the cast?
Not so much a problem with the specific actors abilities, im a big fan of most on screen. I just find that for something like the Odyssey, using so many A-listers (for me at least) can remove immersion. When I see anne hathaway I think of catwoman and romcoms, tom holland - obviously spiderman, robert pattenson is everywhere, matt damon is everywhere, Zendaya is everywhere, etc.
I would've loved to have seen some unknown/unseen smaller actors take on the side characters then let matt damon really carry the film.
I think A list selection works better in modern/sci fi settings, such as tenet, inception, and interstellar.
For example, I love the film 1917 and I think its mainly due to the actors having virtually zero star power. Then when Benedict Cumberbatch shows up I was reminded I was watching a movie.
What do you guys think?
