Verbal offer, then crickets

Interviewed on 12/10 with hiring manager. She verbally offered me the job and said HR would be in touch.

12/17 I received a call from HR offering me the job with a start date of 1/12. Briefly went over benefits and requirements before starting (physical, drug test, orientation, etc). She said she would send the documents over to review and sign that Friday, 12/19. Nothing was sent.

12/22 I called her and left a voicemail. Maybe backlogged for the holidays?

12/29 I sent an email just touching base again and to see if there’s been any updates.

Still nothing as of today 12/30.

Has anyone else experienced this? Zero communication or official documents with a “start date” quickly approaching.
