Jakob's contract guarantee

From my understanding, Jakob's last year of his contract is only guaranteed for $5m if he doesn't hit the 1400 mins mark. Do you think Jak is being rested (longer than usual) to ensure that he doesn't reach that threshold? ...BTW he's currently at 531 mins for the season.
