20+ old Miele vs new Asko washing machine? What would you recommend?

For a couple of months I’ve been in the market for a new washing machine. As for now I stumbled upon two decent (in my opinion) options. I would expand on them later.

The options are:

1. Miele 477 WPS from 2003 or a little bit earlier. In pretty much new condition (around 500 hours of work total). For the last 22+ smth years it’s been sitting in an empty apartment.
2. Asko WMC8947PI.S. Asko positions this particular one as a commercial model for a small laundries and businesses

Miele 477 WPS.

Sells for around 1100 USD.

Apart from the fact that somehow it survived till now this is a pretty basic model. And I mean it in a good way. It has a capacity of up to 6 kilograms (or roughly 13 pounds) per one wash. Max spin speed is 1600.

Things I’m slightly sceptical about are:

1. No programmable modes. That’s a bummer. I really like to tinker with my stuff. Not a huge deal though. I can live without it
2. 6 kg drum for the most part (like 99% of the time) is more than enough for me but that 1%… does bothers me a little bit. Like washing down parkas and stuff like that
3. It has just 2 dampers for such a big drum. All “pro” grade Miele machines with around the same capacity goes with 3 dampers (2 on the right side). On the bright side: both of them are hydraulic dampers, which is nice and kinda rare

Asko WMC8947PI.S

Sells for around 2000 USD.

As I’ve said before, Asko positions this particular one as professional. So it has some cool features: it can be plugged directly to the hot water, programmable modes, huge drum that can handle 9 kilograms (or 19.8 pounds) and some other bells and whistles.

Things I’m slightly sceptical about:

1. Huge drum. Like huge-huge. Typically I don’t have so much laundry. But I think it’s more or less safe to run it like on the half load. And extra capacity can be really beneficial
2. It is a very “electronic loaded” washing machine. And as far as I understand, longevity wise it’s not ideal
3. No drum light ;(. Small stuff but I really got used to it. I can live without it though
4. Somehow, despite having 4 dumpers, it vibrates more than my current one (Miele washing machine) during drying cycle. Not sure what’s going on here but I hues it’s alright for the most part

I’m very sorry for such a huge post! Wasn’t expecting it to turn out that way.

Anyways, what would you recommend? And even most importantly, what would you choose in my place?
