Extreme fear of losing the body I worked so hard for
Hi beautiful women <3 I'm a 33F who has been on the fence with my husband for 8 years but lately we have been leaning a loooot more into yes. I do weightlifting 4x times a week religiously and I'm extremely disciplined with exercise and nutrition.
I'm not pregnant but the reason why I'm posting here is because being pregnant has always been extremely terrifying for me, with one of the reasons being that I'm really scared of losing the body that I have worked so hard for. I went from being anorexic to being overweight and dealing with EDs and bad body image until I was 26. I have never felt so good and confident until now, so the thought of letting that go (even temporarily) is really hard and makes me panic. I know my body will change, but I'm scared of permanent change.
I would love to know if any of you felt this way before getting pregnant and how was it afterwards? Were you able to get back to how you looked and feel? I would love to hear your stories because I think it would help me a lot feel less scared.
And also (more related to post-partum) - how did you manage to find time to work out? My husband always says he would be more than happy taking care of the baby so I can workout when I'm cleared by the doctor, but in my head I will have to be 24/7 with the baby and won't have time for months. (This is probably extreme but the whole pregnancy and kids topic is completely new to me and still learning a lot!)
Thank you so much <3
