Books that are great before bed and not something that gets me riled up
When I got back into reading (partly to sleep better) I decided to read The Hobbit and absolutely loved it, and I moved on to Lord of the Rings and loved it (although not as much).
Then I read Majdolene (a beautiful Arabic translation of the French romance novel Under the Linden Trees), but I got riled up and upset about some of the events and realized it wasn't appropriate bed reading.
The Hobbit and LotR, despite having some tense moments, were in general very calming and peaceful. I don't know why, though. Any one know what I should be looking into? Is it the genre or writing style?
Thank you.
