I healed from this after my gender transition. I wish I connected the dots sooner.

Self-Story

It’s bittersweet to be on this side now. I can now see how much my life has improved since I started living as my true self… but I can also see how much time I wasted living in my own head.

My thoughts were loud and addictive and getting out of it felt like going sober after years of being addicted, it felt lonely and empty. I’m still working on what I want to do with my life, but I am so much better now.

Therapists never addressed my maladaptive daydreaming and often shut me down whenever I started talking about my inner world, which is something I still don’t know why. I guess it was because they had no clue how to treat it.
