Anyone else notice how bad and boring american politicians, journalists, tv hosts etc dress even though they can afford much better? I assume they also get style advice

Now during the holiday i was a bit sick and spend a lot of time on youtube both watching american politicans press conferences and different interviews and stuff like late night shows

And one thing that strikes me as a swedish person is how boring and dull they all look. Doesn't matter their leaning or view/bias, they look more like some head waiter or hotell staff than a person wearing a nice suit to me

Compare that to BBC, I think they have way more well dress TV show h osts

what do you think? And, is this because the old tradition of not looking too fancy because breaking away from nobility and kings etc?

Just take such a simple thing as Trump or anyone in the goverment never wearing a pocket square(but biden did, in different folds too!). Such an easy thing to make a suit outfit nicer

and another thing is, what's up with the dress shirt with tie? Here in Sweden I NEVER saw someone wear that on this side of 2000s.
