is 6.5 months healed enough to keep jewelry off?

got two vertical labrets in june and the few times i tried taking them off for a minute it was kinda hard to push them back in. that was 2+ months ago though. thing is gotta get a new passport on thursday and have no clear retainers or even answers on if they would allow that on the photo so im gonna just have to take them off for however long that takes
